Eugenia Estévez fra Argentina kommer til Inderøy for undervise en klasse i moderne/samtidsdans! 22. januar 2013 Kl 18.15 - 20.15
The goal of the classes is to help the participants to improve perception, and develop the consciousness and the sensibility of dancers in relation with the comprehension of intrinsic life of movement. How movement is generated and what is supporting it?
The focus will be in the perception and the quality of the attention, how assuming an action in its totality, finding the feeling of union and full attention.
The work will be based on my own Release Technique, with elements from Feldenkrais and Alexander technique.
We will concentrate on the study of the weight, the axis in the body and the relation of this with gravity in order to find more efficiency with less effort.
Working on the dynamic alignment of the bone structure to reduce tension of the superficial muscles, and find the support of the deeper musculature. The focus on the skeletal structure will help improve the dancer’s physical perception and alertness.
Working on some movement patterns that involve breathing, speed and the release of energy throughout the body we will activate the relationship of the spine as a center of information out to the rest of the body and space. The classes will include movement phrases that work on these points in order to move more efficiently in the space.
The “constant innovation” is a set of practices that are related to each other and operate simultaneously over time, impulse and inhibition of habits.
It is an attempt to preserve “the possibility suspended between the event and no event, including the possibility of being and of not being” as it is in that intermediate state which plays the future of our presence. It is in this “between” where we’re lucky if you can recognize and capture that piece of “event” that intrigues us and draws us. And we will find the clues we need to begin the arduous task of imagining the world.
